Double By-election Victory for Lib Dems Leaves Tories Trailing

Liberal Democrats Winning Here!

Liberal Democrats in South East Cornwall have won two hard fought by-elections In Saltash and Torpoint to gain seats on Caradon District Council and Torpoint Town Council.

Janet Moon was elected to Torpoint Town Council on Thursday 4th of May

Lib Dems 676 64%

Ind 374 36%

Graham Syass was elected to Caradon District Council on 25th of May

Lib Dems 474 43%

Ind 334 31%

Con 280 26%

Colin Breed the MP for for South East Cornwall commented,

"I am absolutely delighted with both results. Janet and Graham will make excellent councillors and I look forward to working with them. The result in Saltash shows that the public have seen through the Conservatives' phony 'make over' and still do not trust them to run local services."
